Process of Development and Localization of a Digitized Curriculum

- Curriculum analysis
In order to commence the development of the metadata schema, it would be necessary to begin by analyzing the curriculum employed in the schools - Curriculum Matrix
From understanding the subjects taught, and the nature of the instruction involved, the focus of the work undertaken at this stage is to define and provide the underlying metadata schemes and structures that can be implemented in the creation of a digital content repository. The analysis of the curriculum will enable the development of a Curriculum Matrix at the level of Learning areas and Strands. Provide structuring down to the most granular levels of detailed curriculum content descriptions or statements. Select a sample set of digital curriculum resources to analyze. From this develop an understanding of the content and presentation styles of the resources schools would access. This would inform cataloguing in areas such as resource types and file formats. - Develop a metadata schema
The work undertaken above will lead us to developing an initial metadata schema (framework) which could be based on an existing taxonomy. - Translation of Metedata Taxonomy
With the knowledge gained from the above processes, we would proceed to translate the taxonomy which would be enriched with local language terms. The terms which would form the controlled vocabulary that is fundamental to quality assured resource description and discovery. - Sample metadata records for expert review
Using the metadata schema, develop sample metadata records. The goal would be to ensure these records and the translation appropriately reflected the education and cultural goals and language of your education system. - Final testing
Proceed to the final edits and adaptation of the schema and to providing the supporting documentation.
